Douglas W. Reynolds, 34, of Monmouth, passed away unexpectedly due to congestive heart failure on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth.

Doug was born on April 21, 1981 in Peoria, IL; he is the son of Tom Reynolds and Kathy (Gillen) Johnson. He was raised and educated in the Monmouth area. Doug graduated from Warren High School in 1999 and attended Western Illinois University. He married Mary Snowden in Jamaica in 2005.

Doug was a stay at home dad as his children were the center of his world and he loved spending time with them. He was an animal lover, and enjoyed his two dogs. Doug also loved listening to and making music. Doug enjoyed spending time with his friends and he considered a friend once made was a friend for life. His quick smile and heartfelt laugh will be truly missed.

Surviving Doug are his parents; Tom (Carrie) Reynolds of Bartonville, IL, Kathy (Lonnie) Johnson of Monmouth, four children; Cameron, Dylan, Sofia, and Jude Reynolds all of Monmouth; Sister, Jillian (Adam) Keil, Step-Sisters; Jenna (Brian) Parkins, Lindsay (Joe) Fenwick, Step-Brothers; Luke (Lauren) Johnson, Zach (Cameo) Johnson, and Mark (Jen) Rosenak. Also surviving is his grandmother Maxine Reynolds, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Marian Gillen, Bob Reynolds, and Fay and Virginia Johnson.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A private family memorial service will be at a later date. Memorials can be made to Western Illinois Animal Rescue or the Warren County YMCA.
