Donald L. Tinder

Donald L. Tinder, 71, of Monmouth died at 12:20 A.M. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Donnie was born July 7, 1941 in Monmouth, IL the son of William Arthur and Lucy Geraldine (Beechler) Tinder. He was raised and educated in Monmouth graduating from Monmouth High School in 1959. Following graduation Donnie served with the United States Air Force.

Donnie worked as a technician for GTE Telephone before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the former 9th Ave. Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his nephew, David (Susan) White of Long Grove, IL; niece, Amy (Jeff) Sachs of Arlington Heights, IL; 2 great nieces; special friend and longtime companion, Phyllis Zang of Monmouth.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marilyn Tinder and Carol Hart.

Cremation has been accorded with a private family interment at Warren County Memorial Park to be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established to be designated later. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, 1325 N. 11th St. Monmouth is in charge of the local arrangements.
