Donald C. Neal

Donald C. Neal 86, of Galesburg, Il passed away at 3:00 am, Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his home.

He was born September 5, 1932 at his family home in rural Warren County, IL. the son of Wiley and Maude (Simmons) Neal.  He was raised and educated in Little York and attended Little York High School.

Don served with the United States Navy for 3 years as a Mechanic.

Don married Willma Cook.  He later married Donna Briggs on January 18, 1991 and she survives.

Don worked as a mechanic for Massy Ferguson in Abingdon, Allis Chalmers in Alexis and lastly, Monmouth Implement for 14 years before retiring.

He enjoyed fishing and boating in the Mississippi River and playing guitar.  He was a Hank Williams fan and enjoyed following the Chicago Cubs and Bears.  Don loved his Hamm’s beer.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Neal of Galesburg; his children, Donald (Kimberly) Neal of Monmouth, Lewy Neal of Knoxville, Mary (John) Menchaca of Peoria, Cathy (Jim) Walker of Farmington and James (Gloria) Briggs of Wataga; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and his sister Edith Johnson of Grimes, IA, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers & 3 sisters.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth.  Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, October 12, 2018 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Memorials may be given to Hospice Compassus.
