Don A. “Skip” Baldridge, 65, of Monmouth, passed away at 5:08 p.m., Sunday, July 19, 2015, at OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center, Galesburg, IL. He was born on October 31, 1949 in Monmouth, and is the son of Donald and Nedra (White) Baldridge. He was raised and educated in Monmouth and attended Monmouth High School. Don was a roofer for many years; he was the third generation of his family to operate Baldridge Roofing. Don worked for a time as a firefighter for the City of Monmouth. He also worked at Gale Products in Galesburg, Equipco in Monmouth, and was the regional service manager for Coca-Cola. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking-especially a good fish fry, and helping people. He is survived by his mother Nedra Baldridge of Monmouth, one son Bret Baldridge (Michile) of Monroe, LA, two daughters; Ronna Perez (Steve) of Galesburg, IL, Chrissy Rafford (Patrick) of Maine, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Also surviving is one sister Linda Barr of Monmouth and several nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his father. A Gathering of Family & Friends will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 23, 2015 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Cremation rites will be accorded following the gathering. A private family interment of his ashes will be in Monmouth Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
