DeAnna M. Thompson, 79, of Oquawka, IL, passed away at 11:12 a.m. on October 24, 2020 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.
DeAnna was born November 8, 1940 in New Boston, MO, daughter of C.O. “Bill” and Viola May (Bishop) Thompson. She was raised and educated in New Boston and Bucklin, MO.
She worked as a cook at Country Fun in Biggsville, IL, until her retirement.
DeAnna attended the New Boston Christian Church in New Boston, MO and the Oquawka United Methodist Church. She loved her family, friends and her cat Patches. She also enjoyed flower gardening, listening to Elvis Presley music and looking for bargains at yard sales, Wal-Mart and Dollar General.
She is survived by her children; Debra (Tim) Nolan of Marceline, MO and Douglas (Margie) Jackson of Sedalia, MO; grandchildren, Eric (Candice) Nolan of Warsaw, MO, Adam (Celene) Nolan of Tacoma, WA, Andrea (Tyler) Shoemaker of Marceline, MO, and Glenell Siron of Sedalia, MO; great-grandchildren, Lola and Drake Nolan, Ruby and Sawyer Shoemaker and Ethan Siron; and her companion John Hart of Oquawka, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and best friend, Stanley Jackson.
Cremation rites have been accorded. No services are planned at this time. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
