Constance L. "Connie" Leath

Constance “Connie” L. Leath, 71 of Galesburg, IL, died at 4:24 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Connie was born June 7, 1945 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of James Everett and Vurgil Ruth (Shaffer) Leath. She was raised and educated in Cameron, IL, graduating from Warren High School in 1963.

Connie married Robert Derry and they were later divorced.

She worked several jobs but most recently was the manager at Midwest Title Loans in Galesburg.

Connie loved spending time with her family and being at home but also enjoyed traveling. She was a member of the Galesburg Elks Lodge #894 and the Cameron Christian Church.

Survivors include her children, Rob (Julie) Derry of Monmouth and Toby (Kim) Derry of Katy, TX; grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Derry of Springfield, IL, Kayleigh Derry of Lake in the Hills, IL, Meagan Derry and Mitchell Derry both of Katy, TX; great granddaughter, Emma Lynn Derry of Springfield, IL; Significant other, Al Urena of Galesburg; sisters, Barbara Mackey of Cameron and Margie Borcky of Monmouth; brothers, Jim (Edna) Leath of Cameron, Dean Leath of Monmouth, Fred Leath of Monmouth and Gilbert Leath of Galesburg; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, Wilma Jean Leath, Lucille Walker, Mary Kenney and Nancy Johnson; and 2 brothers, Delbert Leath and Charles Leath.

Graveside committal services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Silent Home Cemetery, Cameron, IL. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the OSF Family House in Peoria, IL.
