Christopher "Chris" W. Smith

Christopher W. “Chris” Smith, 72, of Stronghurst, IL, passed away at 8:45 p.m., Sunday, March 20, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on February 11, 1950 in LaHarpe, IL.  Chris was raised and educated in Lomax, IL.

Chris married Billie Harr on October 21, 1967 in Kahoka, MO; she survives.

Chris was a truck driver at Heartland Express for the last 18 years.  He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Surviving Chris is his wife, Billie Smith of Stronghurst, IL; his children, Ronnie Smith of Stronghurst, IL, Christy (Doug) Bowman of Woodhull, IL, Susan Evans of Media, IL; six grandchildren, Kaleb (Heather) Bigger, Kiersten (Logan) Staley, Kage (Dustin) Evans, Bradley Bowman, Brandi Bowman, Quinten Smith; five great grandchildren, Christopher Bigger, Lyla Staley, Nolan Staley, Cayson Staley, Khaleesi Bigger; three sisters and two brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A celebration of life will be at a later date.  Memorials can be made to the Chris Smith Memorial Fund.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
