Casey A. Montroy, 43, of Roseville, IL, left this life for an eternity with our Lord on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
Casey was born on May 24, 1977 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Jim and Teresa (Briton) Montroy, Jr. He was raised and educated in Monmouth and graduated from Monmouth High School. In high school Casey excelled in sports, winning recognition, medals, and trophies for his athleticism in track, football and especially wrestling. He became a member of the National Guard while in high school.
At the end of his high school days, it did not bring an expected trip to an NFL training camp, instead he welcomed to the world a much-loved daughter, Emily, with Beth Voce. Casey also proudly introduced sons, Cameron and Colton with his wife, Casey Ann Mowen, they later divorced. Casey then married Lacrissa Cooper, they later divorced, but was blessed with more children, sons; Landon, Gabriel, William, and daughter, Patience. Casey married Rebecca Janic in Ft. Madison, IA, on November 22, 2017 with whom he loved and fathered daughters, Grace and Hannah Janic. Casey was also blessed with 2 granddaughters from Emily and Terrance Hernandez: Jazmyn, and Hayden.
Casey worked long and hard hours away from home providing for his children as a highly sought-after and skilled Welder and pipefitter with Local 25 of Rock Island. He was an avid sportsman, hunting white-tailed deer and fishing were some of his favorite things to do. He also excelled at woodworking, making family and friends furniture and beautiful wood projects.
Casey was well-known for his charm, quick-wit, and belly laugh. He greeted everyone and had multitudes of friends. His biggest amount of pride came from his children. He loved them all and sacrificed so much to provide for them, he was a devoted father and a much-loved daddy.
Casey is survived by his wife, Rebecca Montroy of Kirkwood, IL; nine children, Cameron and Colton Montroy, Grace and Hannah Janic, Landon, Patience, Gabriel and William Montroy; two grandchildren, Jazmyn and Hayden Hernandez; his parents, Jim and Teresa Montroy of Monmouth, IL; Sisters, Debbie Montroy of Roseville, IL, and Billie Jo Montroy of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Jamie (Chrystal) Montroy of Macomb, IL; and long-time best friend Newt Cassiday. Also surviving are several loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents James Montroy, Sr. and Peggy Logsden and maternal grandfather, Albert Briton Jr.
Casey was kind and generous even in his death, he was an organ donor.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Following his wishes, a celebration his life, the life of an amazing man, will be from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the Monmouth V.F.W. Hall.
