Bradley E. Johnson, 67, of Kirkwood, IL, passed away at 6:25 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2018 at his home.
He was born December 20, 1950 in Monmouth, IL the son of Harlan and Clytie (Logsdon) Johnson. He was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1968.
Brad served with the United States Army from 1970-1972.
Brad married Diane Brighton in Kirkwood, IL on January 31, 1970 and she passed away October 13, 2016.
Brad was the plant superintendent at GlassTex, Mach1 and Envision Boats from 1968 until he retired in 2008.
He was a member of the Monmouth American Legion and the Monmouth V.F.W. where he was active in the Men’s Auxiliary and served as Treasurer for many years. He enjoyed fishing and watching western shows. He loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters; Teresa (Chad) Parrish of Gladstone, IL, Shannon (Phil) Davis of Douds, IA, one son Bradley “BJ” Johnson of Kirkwood, 5 granddaughters; Emily (Dan) Louk, Marissa Husband, Abby Husband, Ceyda Nazli, and Iva Johnson; his grandson, Kenan Nazli. Also surviving is one great grandson Brayden “Duke” Louk and soon to be great granddaughter, Alayna; his sister, Joanne Needham; 2 brothers, Tony (Barb) Johnson and Danny (Vicki) Johnson all of Monmouth; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 brothers and 3 sisters
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 1:00-3:00 pm at the Monmouth V.F.W. Hall. A private committal of his ashes with military honors will take place at Warren County Memorial Park at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Bradley Johnson Memorial Fund.
