Bonnie Carolyn Ray, 78, of Oquawka, IL, passed away at 8:08 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Great River Hospice House, Burlington, IA.
Bonnie was born April 14, 1939 in LaHarpe, IL the daughter of L.C. and Isabelle (Stauffer) Henson. She was raised and educated in LaHarpe and the Biggsville areas, graduating from Biggsville High School in 1957.
Bonnie married Eugene Ray in 1958 they later divorced.
She worked at the Sylvania plant in Burlington, Dr. S.C. Lindo’s office as a receptionist and later in medical records at the Burlington Medical Center.
She loved antiques and spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Scott (Lisa) Ray of Oquawka, IL and Mark (Kathy) Ray of Mountain Green, UT; her 4 grandchildren, Neil Ray and Katie Ray of Mountain Green, UT and Austin Ray and Amanda Guyton of Oquawka, IL; her great grandchildren, Jarid, Lainey and Ali Guyton; her 3 sisters, Karen Perrin of Galesburg, Louetta (Don) Boyer of Biggsville and Mary Jane (Richard) Flowers of Manitou Springs, CO; her brother, Ed Henson of Florence, CO; 2 nieces, Teresa Shook Sangster of Monmouth and Vicki Davis of Galesburg; 4 nephews, Nick Henson of Canon City, CO, Wesley Boyer of Shorewood, IL, Joel Carlston of Casper, WY and Sean McKee of Monmouth, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and great grandson, Jonathan Guyton.
A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 pm, Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Biggsville Community Building, Biggsville, IL. Cremation has been accorded. Memorials may be given to the Great River Hospice House, or the Jonathan Guyton Memorial Campership at Camp Eastman Fund. McGuire and Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the local arrangements.
