Bonnie Jean (Oldham) Baxter

Bonnie Jean (Oldham) Baxter, 78, of Galesburg, IL, formerly of Kirkwood, IL, passed away at 3:55 am, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg.

Bonnie was born July 15, 1939 in Fayette County, IL the daughter of George William and Clara Adline (Wade) Oldham.  She was raised and educated in Kirkwood, IL graduating from Kirkwood High School in 1958.

Bonnie married John Merrill Baxter in Norfolk, VA on September 20, 1960 and he survives.

Bonnie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Moose Lodge, and enjoyed going to the casino, going dancing and listening to country music and being with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband John Merrill Baxter of Galesburg, IL; her daughter, Deborah S. Baxter of Monmouth, IL; son, James M. Baxter of Alexis, IL; granddaughters, Stephanie S. Brownlee of Minneapolis and Jessica L. Brownlee of Monmouth; her sister, Sue (Jerry) Tomlin of Galesburg, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday, June 18, 2018 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Cremation will take place following the services with burial at Cemetery Grove Cemetery, Kirkwood at a later date.  Visitation will be Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 3:00-5:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Multiple Sclerosis Society.
