Beverly E. (Gilbert) Rome

Beverly E. Rome, 80, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 8:36 pm, Sunday, November 24, 2019 at her home.

She was born November 11, 1939 in Momence, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Sara (Sharkey) Gilbert.  She was raised and educated in Momence, attending Momence High School.

Beverly married Donald Rome in Tampa FL on August 10, 1998 and he passed away on February 8, 2011.

Beverly was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She enjoyed taking care of her family.

She enjoyed listening to music, especially hymns, county and old rock and roll. Elvis Presley and Tennessee Ernie Ford were a few of her favorite singers.  She also enjoyed sitting in the living room and watching television.

Survivors include her daughters, Jorie R. Scanlon of Monmouth, IL and Renee Wickline of Aledo, IL; her sons, Christopher P. Scanlon of Galesburg,IL, Robert M Scanlon of Florida and Bradley H. Scanlon of Monmouth, IL;  nine grandchildren, Patricia Scanlon, Katie Wickline, Hailey Wickline, Parker Wickline, Juanita Blea, Jessica Garcia, Michael Scanlon, Peter Scanlon, and Deanna McIntyre;  ten great grandchildren, Emily Scanlon, Tucker Scanlon, Alex Scanlon, Jayliana Johnson, Myliana Johnson, Greyson Johnson, Teagan Johnson, Eleanor Wickline, Dalton McIntyre, and Eva McIntyre; one great great granddaughter, Harper Roy Scanlon;  her sisters, Barbara (Ray) Anderson of Indiana, Bonnie Lambert and Betty (Gene) Dione both of Momence, IL and Virginia (Bill) Dralle; her brother, Edward Gilbert; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald Rome, one daughter, Roxanne McIntyre, and one grandson, Dean McIntyre.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 30, 2019 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.  A private family burial of her ashes will be in Monmouth Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials can be made to the Beverly Rome Memorial Fund.
