Beverly A Nelson

Beverly A. Nelson, 73, of Monmouth, IL died at 5:10 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at her home.

Beverly was born on July 25, 1943 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of John Wayne and Helen Lucille (Bader) Talley. She was raised and educated in Monmouth.

She married Darrell Richard “Rick” Nelson on February 14, 1981 in rural Monmouth; he preceded her in death on September 26, 2000.

Beverly was a jack of all trades, she worked as a waitress, she enjoyed roofing, and bartending. She was of the Christian faith, a member of the Monmouth Eagle’s Club, an avid Bingo participant, and also enjoyed playing the lottery. Beverly enjoyed watching sports supporting the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs, Nascar driver Kyle Bush, and bull riding.

Survivors include her daughters; Tina (Randy) Johnson of Gerlaw, IL, and Deana Gipson of Monmouth; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Kathy (Bobby) Lamb of Galesburg, IL; and two brothers, Mike (Sandy) Talley of Galesburg, and Curt (Heidi) Byland of Antioch, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Gina Shamblin; one granddaughter, Tabitha Cagle; three sisters, Dixie Stull, Linda Hardwick, Debbie McHenry; and one brother, Johnny Talley.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Monday, January 2, 2017 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials can be made to Western Illinois Animal Rescue or Monmouth Small Animal Hospital.
