Barbara E. (Pendleton) White

Barbara E. White, 82, of Eureka, IL, formerly of Monmouth, IL and Las Vegas, NV, passed away at 6:40 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Loft Rehabilitation Center, Eureka, IL.

She was born on July 18, 1936 in Burlington, IA, the daughter of Lonne and Dorothy (Hobbs) Pendleton.  She was raised and educated in Stronghurst, graduating from Stonghurst High School in 1954.

Barbara married Lyman White in Stronghurst on Sept. 16, 1956 and he died Nov. 4, 2008.

Barbara was a secretary and bookkeeper for her husband’s tax business for over 45 years as well as selling Avon products for 41 years.  She was a very active volunteer at Jamieson Center for many years.  Barbara is a former member and Deaconess at Faith United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth.

Survivors include her son, Lance (Jenny) White of Grayslake, IL; daughter, Brenda (Mark) Hopkins Cox of Morton, IL; 5 grandchildren, Jackson White, Shelby White, Ian Hopkins, Peyton Hopkins and Camden Hopkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Lyndall Scott White.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 4, 2018 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  A private family interment will be in Olena Cemetery, Stronghurst, IL.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials can be made to Jamieson Center.
