Barbara J. Buchanan

Barbara J. Buchanan, 75, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 2:20 a.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at her home.

Barbara was born December 8, 1942 in Peoria, Illinois the daughter of Murray and Eleanora (Trutter) Buchanan. She was raised in Peoria and later Kirkwood, where she lived with Mr. & Mrs. John Becker before coming to live in the residential program at Graham Hall with Warren Achievement Center in Monmouth.

She worked for Achievement Industries for many years.

Barbara loved to bake deserts with fudge being one of her favorites around Christmas time. She enjoyed shopping at Malls, Branson, knitting, crocheting, eating out, word searches, looking at Bridal magazines, listening to the Lennon Sisters and Brad Paisley, watching Lawrence Welk and looking for new recipes to try to satisfy her sweet tooth. She was always very helpful either at work or home and was famous for her saying “Oh Honey…”

Survivors include her many friends, co-workers and associates at Warren Achievement.

Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be at 1:15 p.m., Wednesday, February, 28, 2018 at Achievement Industries, 1314 South Main St, Monmouth, IL. Interment will be at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by McGuire and Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.
